EHS ComplianceThe Government of Kerala on February 16, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Public Advisory on Heatwave Precautions and Safety Measures

The following has been stated namely: -

• Stay indoors during peak hours. Vulnerable groups (elderly, children, pregnant women, sick, differently abled) must strictly avoid direct sunlight. Do not leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

• Drink water regularly even if not thirsty. Avoid alcohol, tea, coffee, and soft drinks. Consume fruits, vegetables, ORS, buttermilk, and other fluids.

• Wear loose, light-colored cotton clothes, footwear, and use umbrellas or hats when outdoors. Outdoor workers should adjust work hours and take adequate rest.

• Schools, exam centers, Anganwadis, public event organizers, delivery services, police, and media must ensure drinking water, ventilation, shade, and reduced heat exposure during peak hours.

• Increased risk of fires in markets, buildings, dumping yards, and forests. Conduct fire audits, follow safety guidelines, remain vigilant near forest areas, and ensure proper care for livestock and animals.
