The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on February 18, 2026, issued the notification regarding the declaration of certain Nitazene Derivatives as Manufactured Drugs under the NDPS Act, 1985
The following has been stated namely: -
• In exercise of its powers under Section 2(xi)(b), certain specified substances have been declared as “manufactured drugs.”
• The substances notified include:
o N-Pyrrolidino protonitazene (protonitazepyne)
o N-pyrrolidino metonitazene (metonitazepyne)
o Etonitazepipne (N-piperidinyl etonitazene)
o N-Desethyl-isotonitazene (norisotonitazene)
• The declaration covers the substances along with their salts and preparations.
The notification will come into effect from February 18, 2026.
