The Department of Employment and Skill, Government of Kerala on February 23, 2026, issued the Kerala Tailoring Workers Welfare Fund (Amendment) Scheme, 2026, further to amend the Kerala Tailors' Welfare Fund Scheme, 1995.
The following has been stated:
• It introduces a key revision to the retirement benefit structure under the 1995 Scheme. The amendment substitutes Clause 28A and its earlier benefit table with a newly revised provision and updated benefit slabs.
• The major change is that retirement benefits will now be paid based on the total contribution remitted by the member along with the Board’s matching share, as specified in newly inserted Tables 1 to 4. The revised tables significantly enhance the retirement benefit amounts payable, linking them proportionately to the total contributions made by members.
• The amendment clearly categorizes members into two groups: those who obtained membership up to March 31, 2020 (covered under Tables 1, 2 and 3), and those who became members on or after April 1, 2020 (covered under Table 4). Each table prescribes structured slabs showing the contribution paid and the corresponding enhanced retirement benefit payable.
