Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Finance (MoF) on February 25, 2026, issued a notification regarding the approval of Aadhaar Authentication.

The following has been stated: -

•The Ministry of Finance has notified that TransUnion CIBIL Limited may use Aadhaar authentication to verify users’ identity for accessing credit information reports.

•Approval has been granted under the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, and the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Rules, 2020.

•Authentication (Yes/No or eKYC) will be voluntary and used only during user registration and login on the CIBIL platform.

•Users may alternatively verify identity using PAN, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or Ration Card, and services cannot be denied for refusing Aadhaar.
