The Government of Tripura, on January 20, 2026, issued the Draft Tripura Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Tripura Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2026 come into force upon publication in the Tripura Gazette and prescribe definitions, registration procedures, and compliance requirements for establishments under the Occupational Safety Code.
•Establishments must obtain electronic registration, report accidents, dangerous occurrences, and notify diseases within stipulated timelines, and ensure medical fitness before injured employees resume work.
•The Rules also outline the duties and rights of employees and employers regarding workplace safety and immediate reporting of imminent dangers.
•They provide for the constitution, composition, powers, meetings, and functioning of the Tripura State Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Board to advise the State Government on occupational safety and health matters.
Objections and suggestions may be submitted within 45 days from January 20, 2026.
