The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D) on February 24, 2026, issued the amendments to the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.
The amendment to the First Schedule revises the recognition status of the B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree awarded by Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner under the “Degrees” sub-heading at serial number 75. It substitutes the earlier entry to specify that the B.V.Sc. & A.H. qualification shall be recognized as a veterinary qualification only if it was granted between January 19, 2011, and July 24, 2015, or if it is granted on or after July 20, 2027. Accordingly, degrees awarded outside these specified periods shall not be treated as recognized veterinary qualifications under the Act.
