EHS ComplianceThe Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB), on February 25, 2026, notified regarding the revision of Authorization Fee Structure under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Government bedded health care facilities are required to pay annual fees based on bed strength: ₹1,500 for up to 50 beds, ₹3,000 for up to 200 beds, ₹5,000 for up to 500 beds, and ₹7,000 for 500 beds and above. 

• Government non-bedded facilities such as dispensaries, sub-centres, health and wellness centres, veterinary institutions, and laboratories must pay a one-time authorization fee of ₹1,250. 

• Additionally, institutions other than Government HCFs engaged in bio-medical waste collection, storage, transportation, treatment, disposal, or handling must obtain authorization with annual fees based on capital investment: ₹6,250 per year for investment up to ₹25 lakhs, ₹12,500 per year for investment above ₹25 lakhs, and ₹2,000 per year for Government institutions.
