The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on February 27, 2026, issued a circular regarding the Declaration of Drug "Not of Standard Quality" on Testing.
The following has been stated, namely:-
• A drug sample collected from ESI Hospital, Rajamahendravaram (East Godavari District) has been declared “Not of Standard Quality (NSQ).” The product is Ondansetron 8 mg tablets (brand name: Ondoc 8) manufactured by Morepen Laboratories Limited.
• The tested batch (No. FS10767A), manufactured in September 2025 with an expiry date of August 2027, was analyzed by the Government Analyst, Drugs Control Laboratory, Vijayawada (Report No. 152/KYG/APS DTL/2025 dated 12-01-2026). The sample failed the Dissolution Test at Stage 1 and Stage 2 as per Indian Pharmacopoeia standards.
