Industry Specific Compliance The Government of Uttar Pradesh on February 02, 2026, issued the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026 to further amend the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1916.

The following amendments have been stated:

• In clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1916, the words and symbol 'leper’s homes', shall be omitted.
