The Pollution Control Committee of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli on January 16, 2026, bans Furnace Oil and Pet coke in Industries.
The Pollution Control Committee has mandated that all industries in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu must stop using Pet Coke and Furnace Oil as fuel by 8 June 2024, with no extensions allowed.
The order is being strictly enforced due to worsening air quality and public health concerns.
Any industry violating the ban after the deadline will face:
Immediate closure of operations, and
Penal action under environmental law, without prior notice or hearing.
The UT is strictly enforcing a complete industrial fuel ban on Pet Coke and Furnace Oil to protect air quality and public health.
