The Government of Goa, on February 25, 2026, issued a notification regarding Paid Holiday for Panchayat Bye-Election.
The following has been stated: -
•Under Section 40A(1) of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, the Government of Goa has declared Sunday, March 08, 2026, as a paid holiday for Panchayat bye-elections in specified wards.
•The holiday applies to all eligible voters employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment across the State.
•It also covers daily wage and casual workers, including those in Government departments and State industrial undertakings.
•This paid holiday is in addition to the previously notified general holidays for 2025.
