The Government of Goa, on February 26, 2026, notified the Mukhyamantri Swayampurna Goa Poultry Development Policy, 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government of Goa has notified the Mukhyamantri Swayampurna Goa Poultry Development Policy, 2025, to make the State self-sufficient in poultry production by 2037, in line with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat 2047.
•The policy aims to revive the poultry sector by promoting local farmers, ensuring food safety, strengthening biosecurity, and creating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
•It applies to all individuals, SHGs, co-operatives, startups, and businesses engaged in poultry farming, processing, and trade within Goa.
•The Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services will implement the policy, which is valid for five years and supported through separate financial incentive schemes.
