The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I) on February 25, 2026, issued a notification regarding the cancellation of SEZ Status in Telangana.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government has rescinded the earlier notification issued under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, for a 16.19-hectare IT/ITES SEZ set up by Cognizant Technology Solutions India Private Limited in Telangana.
•The SEZ, located at Adibatla Village, Ranga Reddy District, was originally notified in June 2008.
•The proposal for full de-notification was supported by the Government of Telangana and recommended by the Development Commissioner, Visakhapatnam SEZ.
•The rescission is effective prospectively, without affecting actions already taken under the earlier notification.
