The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on February 27, 2026, issued notification on Fixing Retail Price of Specified Drug Formulations.
The NPPA under powers granted by the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 and relevant government notifications issued by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has fixed the retail price (excluding GST) of specified drug formulations.
The notified prices apply to the listed medicines according to their strength, unit, manufacturer, and marketing company as detailed in the official table.
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority directs that manufacturers of the notified “new drug” formulations must:
• Fix and follow the retail price specified in the notification table.
• Add GST only if actually paid or payable on that retail price.
• Determine pack prices as per DPCO, 2013 and issue a price list (Form-V) to NPPA (via IPDMS), State Drug Controllers, and dealers.
• Ensure retailers/dealers display the price list prominently.
• Comply with all statutory requirements, including valid manufacturing licenses.
• Refund any overcharged amount with interest if the notified price is not followed.
• Treat this notification as superseding any earlier price orders for the same formulation and manufacturer/marketer.
