The U. T. Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on January 16, 2026, notified regarding the strict enforcement of the ban on the use of Pet Coke and Furnace Oil in Industries.
The Pollution Control Committee pursuant to Order dated December 13, 2023, has mandated that all industries discontinue the use of Pet Coke and Furnace Oil as fuel on or before June 08, 2024, with no further extension permitted. The order is being strictly enforced in view of deteriorating ambient air quality and to safeguard public health and the environment in the Union Territory.
Any industrial unit found violating the directive, including continued use of Pet Coke or Furnace Oil beyond the stipulated date, shall face immediate closure under Section 31A of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, without prior notice, along with penal action under Section 37 of the said Act.
