The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MoSDE) on February 18, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Portal Upgrade in the Rebate in Training Period.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The portal was not granting training period rebate in certain cases due to mismatch between the candidate’s entered trade/specialization and the master trade list.
• The issue occurred because the trade/specialization field previously allowed free text entry, leading to spelling errors and case-sensitivity mismatches, resulting in contracts being generated without rebate.
• The portal has now been updated to allow selection of trade/specialization only through a drop-down list, eliminating spelling and case-sensitivity errors.
• Earlier free-text entries have been made blank/null. Establishments must ask candidates to update their trade/specialization via their login to enable generation of contracts with eligible rebate.
• Contract generation matrix:
o Blank/Null trade → Contract cannot be created (candidate must update).
o Different trade from master list → Contract generated without rebate.
o Matching qualification and trade as per master list → Contract generated with rebate.
