The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on February 20, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Launch of Support for Alternative Trade Instruments under Export Promotion Mission (EPM) – NIRYAT PROTSAHAN.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Support for Alternative Trade Instruments intervention under Export Promotion Mission (EPM) – NIRYAT PROTSAHAN has been implemented with immediate effect.
• The initiative aims to improve access to export finance for MSMEs involved in international value chains, particularly by promoting alternative trade finance mechanisms, initially focusing on export factoring.
• Both recourse and non-recourse export factoring arrangements, denominated in INR or freely convertible foreign currencies, and entered into with entities regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) or International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), will be eligible for support.
• The scheme will be launched on a pilot basis to enable feedback, institutional learning, and refinements. Detailed policy, operational guidelines, governance structure, and procedures are provided in Annexures I–IV.
• The guidelines are open for stakeholder feedback under Paragraph 1.07A of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, with comments invited within 30 days at [email protected].
