The Government of Punjab on February 20, 2026, issued the Punjab Town Improvement Trust (Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Punjab Town Improvement Trust Rules, 1939.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Rule 4-A has been inserted namely: -
“4-A. Municipal Development Fund-
(1) Out of the total income derived from disposal of lands, buildings and other movable and immovable properties vesting in the Trust, after excluding the establishment expenses of the Trust, fifty percent of the remaining income shall be deposited in the Municipal Development Fund during the same financial year. This amount should be deposited on monthly installment basis. This shall also be applicable for total income derived from disposable of lands, buildings and other movable and immovable properties in the Financial Year 2025-26.
(2) The amount shall be credited by the Trust towards a specific head of account created by the Government, as may be notified."
This shall come into force on February 20, 2026.
