Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Medical Commission (NMC) on February 20, 2026, issued the notification regarding tackling the factors contributing to doping in Sports.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has requested medical institutions to issue advisories to Medical Colleges, Hospitals, and Registered Medical Practitioners to raise awareness about the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List, especially while treating athletes.

• Medical professionals are encouraged to prescribe medicines containing WADA-prohibited substances only when medically justified, with proper documentation and responsible prescription practices.

• Medical Colleges/Institutions should support the initiative by integrating basic anti-doping awareness into medical education and continuing professional development programmes to help tackle doping in sports.
