The Department of Mines and Geology, Govt. of Punjab on February 25, 2026, issued the Punjab Regulation of Crusher Units, and Stockists and Retailers (Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Punjab Regulation of Crusher Units, and Stockists and Retailers Rules, 2025.
This shall come into effect from February 26, 2026.
The following has been amended:
• The amendments primarily revise procedural and regulatory provisions relating to the operation, licensing, monitoring, and compliance requirements of crusher units, stockists, and retailers dealing with minor minerals.
• The changes introduce modifications in licensing conditions, documentation requirements, and operational safeguards to strengthen regulatory oversight. Certain compliance mechanisms have been streamlined, while provisions on inspection, record-keeping, and reporting obligations have been clarified to improve monitoring and transparency.
• The amendments also rationalize certain procedural aspects to improve implementation and enforcement by the competent authorities.
• Overall, the amendment aims to enhance accountability, ensure stricter regulation of crusher units and mineral stock handling, and promote better compliance with environmental and mining norms within the State.
