The Government of Bihar on February 26, 2026, issued the Bihar Jan Vishwas (Provisions) Bill, 2026 to amend certain Acts to decriminalise and rationalise offences and to further improve trust-based governance for Assamese in living and doing business.
The Acts specified in column (4) of the Schedule are amended to the extent and in the manner specified in column (5) of the Schedule of the table.
All the revision of fines and penalties of the various provisions of the Acts mentioned in the Schedule.
It shall come into force on such date as the Government of Bihar may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify, and different dates may be appointed for the amendments to different laws specified in the Schedule.
