Industry Specific ComplianceThe University Grants Commission (UGC), on February 28, 2026, notified regarding the Promotion and adoption of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) enabled Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) across health facilities in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

The following has been stated namely: -

• It is informed that Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is being implemented by National Health Authority to create the digital public infrastructure for health in the country. The adoption of ABDM-enabled solutions will allow facilities to use ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) for patients to create longitudinal health history, securely connect with stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem, and promote interoperability of health records.

• NHA has been actively promoting ABDM enablement of HMIS operating in the ecosystem. The list of such HMIS can be accessed at https://abdm.gov.in/our-partners/HMIS. For smaller health facilities, NHA, in collaboration with C-DAC, has developed a government-supported HMIS, namely e-Sushrut@Clinic, which is a plug-and-play solution.
