EHS ComplianceThe Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), on November 24, 2026, notified regarding the classification of Aviation Service Facility (storing aviation fuel only).

The following has been stated namely: -

• PPCB has also constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of the Member Secretary of the Board for deciding the categorization of left-out sectors vide office memorandum no. SEE(HQ2)/F.no.10/2025/89 dated 19.03.2025. 

• Now, considering the recommendations made by the above-mentioned Committee constituted by the Board, it has been decided to issue the following clarification with respect to the Aviation Service Facility (storing aviation fuel only)

• For the facility involving storage of aviation fuel, which necessitates approval/ licensing from the Chief Controller of Explosives (CCE), the CPCB Guidelines/Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Petrol Depots (other than petrol pumps/ retail outlets) having facilities for storing, handling, distribution, transportation, loading or unloading of petrol and which are required to obtain approval/ license from the CCE shall be applicable. Additionally, no separate categorization of such sectors is required and may be considered under category 151.3- Isolated storages (as defined under Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals Rules, 1989 as amended) under the Orange category classified by CPCВ.
