The Ministry of Coal (MoC), on March 02, 2206, notified regarding the monthly Production and Dispatch from Captive and Commercial Mines in February 2026.
The following has been stated namely: -
• During February 2026, captive and commercial coal mines in India produced 20.49 MT of coal, with dispatches of 17.72 MT, marking an 18.51% year-on-year increase. For FY 2025–26 (up to February), cumulative production grew 11.58%, and dispatches rose 6.78% compared to the previous year.
• The Ministry of Coal attributes this growth to strategic policies, operational efficiency, capacity expansion, and improved coordination, and emphasizes continued efforts to maintain stable production, minimize supply disruptions, and support India’s energy needs.
