Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) on February 16, 2026, issued the notification regarding the 5th Reallocation of Export Quota for export during Sugar Season 2025-26 and consequent adjustment of Monthly release quantity on account of exchange of export quantity with domestic monthly release quantity.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Government has permitted export of 15 Lakh Metric Tonnes (LMT) of sugar, along with prescribed modalities for sugar export.

• As per Clause 4 of the export guidelines, the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) has allowed exchange of export quota with domestic monthly release quota among sugar mills.

• Based on requests and mutual agreements between sugar mills, additional export quantities have been allocated and corresponding adjustments have been made in their domestic monthly release quotas
