BIS issued the date of establishment and withdrawal for Acoustics — Description, Measurement and Assessment of Environmental Noise, Cable Networks for Television Signals, etc.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on February 24, 2026, issued the date of establishment and withdrawal of certain Indian Standards (IS).

The following IS have been established on February 18, 2026, namely: -

• IS/ISO 1996-1 : 2016 Acoustics — Description, Measurement and Assessment of Environmental Noise

• IS/ISO 1996-2 : 2017 Acoustics — Description, Measurement and Assessment of Environmental Noise Part 2 Determination of Sound Pressure Levels

• IS 2264 : 2026 ISO 266 : 1997 Acoustics — Preferred Frequencies (First Revision)

• IS 8159 : 2026 IEC 60263 : 2020 Scales and Sizes for Plotting Frequency Characteristics and Polar Diagrams (Second Revision)

• IS 14231 (Part 1) : 2026 IEC 60728-1 : 2014 Cable Networks for Television Signals, Sound Signals and Interactive Services Part 1 System Performance of Forward Paths (First Revision)

The following IS has been withdrawn on August 18, 2026, namely: -
