Secretarial ComplianceThe Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on March 02, 2026, issued modification in Number of Strikes of Natural Gas Options on Futures (1,250 MMBtu) and Natural Gas Mini Options on Futures (250 MMBtu) Contracts.

In accordance with the Rules, Bye-Laws, and Business Rules of the Exchange, members are hereby informed of a modification to the contract specifications of MCX Natural Gas Options on Futures (1,250 MMBtu) and Natural Gas Mini Options on Futures (250 MMBtu), effective March 3, 2026. This change has been introduced to ensure sufficient strike availability and appropriate price range coverage for market participants amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and extreme conditions arising from war situations.

Specifically, the ‘Number of Strikes’ parameter for both contracts has been revised from 30-1-30 to 40-1-40. Additionally, the Exchange retains the discretion to introduce further strikes if required. These modifications will apply to both running contracts and those yet to be launched, as detailed in the respective annexures. The updated contract specifications and trading parameters will be binding on all Exchange members and their constituents. Members are also advised to refer to the latest circulars issued by MCXCCL for applicable margin requirements and to take note of the above changes.
