The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on March 03, 2026, issued Draft Civil Aviation Requirements Section 2 - Airworthiness Series X Part II related to Weight and Balance Control of Aircraft.
The following has been stated: -
•The Directorate General of Civil Aviation Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) lays down rules for aircraft weight and balance control under Rule 58 of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.
•It prescribes initial and periodic re-weighment requirements based on MTOW, including mandatory reweighing after major repairs or alterations.
•The CAR details preparation, approval, display, and record-keeping of weight schedules, along with load and trim sheet requirements for all operators.
•It also specifies standard passenger/crew weights, CG computation responsibilities, calibration of weighing scales, and safe loading instructions to ensure operational safety.
