Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Medical Commission (NMC) on March 03, 2026, notified regarding the implementation of HMIS (Health Management Information System) for attached hospitals.

Attention is drawn to the UGMSR 2023 and related regulations issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC), mandating all medical institutions to install a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) in their attached/associated hospitals. Medical colleges were previously directed to implement AEBAS, HMIS, and CCTV integration with NMC to enable continuous monitoring of medical education and training standards.

To enhance objectivity and transparency in the annual renewal and assessment process, all medical colleges under NMC must now integrate their hospital HMIS with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission-HMIS (ABDM-HMIS) portal maintained by the National Health Authority under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The process for HMIS integration is detailed in Annexure-I of the notice. Institutions facing technical issues may contact the designated officials at NHA and NMC through the provided email IDs. The integration must be completed within 15 days from the date of issuance of the notice.
