The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on February 26, 2026, notified regarding the submission of applications under various categories of affiliation for the session 2027-28 in SARAS 7.0.
The following has been stated:
• It has announced the opening of the online application window on the SARAS portal for affiliation-related applications for the academic session 2027–28, starting from May 2026. Schools can apply under various categories, such as fresh affiliation, up-gradation to secondary or senior secondary level, extension or restoration of affiliation, branch school approval, section increase, site shifting, introduction of additional subjects, name change of school or managing entity, land area changes, transfer of school management, and closure of school.
• Most major categories, including fresh affiliation, up-gradation, site shifting, and restoration, will require 100% physical inspection, while some categories, like section increase and extension of affiliation, may involve virtual inspection or automated scrutiny.
• Schools shall ensure that OASIS data is correctly updated and mandatory public disclosures, including teacher details and required documents, are uploaded on the school website.
• Applications for foreign/international schools and government or government-aided schools will remain open throughout the year, and schools seeking extension of affiliation shall apply for extension first before applying under any other category.
