The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRT&H), on March 02, 2026, issued the Compensation to Victims of Hit and Run Motor Accidents (Amendment) Scheme, 2026, to further amend the Compensation to Victims of Hit and Run Motor Accidents Scheme, 2022.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In the said Scheme, paragraphs 11 and 12 shall be omitted.
• In the said Scheme, paragraph 21, sub-paragraph (2), in clause (b), after the words “Claims Settlement Commissioner”, the words shall be inserted, namely:- “on the portal”.
• In the said Scheme, paragraph 21, sub-paragraph (3), after the words “report to the Claims Enquiry Officer”, the words shall be inserted, namely:- “on the portal”.
