The Government of Goa March 02, 2026, issued Restriction On Sale Of Liquor.
The Department of Finance (Revenue and Control) has ordered the closure of all licensed liquor-selling premises on March 07, 08, and 09, 2026 in specified wards across several Village Panchayats in Pernem, Bicholim, Bardez, Salcete, Ponda, Quepem, and Canacona Talukas. The restriction applies due to the polling and counting of votes for the bye-election to 14 vacant wards of Village Panchayats.
During these dates, the sale and service of liquor will not be permitted in the notified wards. However, establishments holding “Bar and Restaurant” licenses may keep their restaurant sections open solely for serving food, while the bar counters must remain closed.
Additionally, such establishments must clearly display a notice within their premises stating that no liquor will be served and that the restaurant is open only for food service during the specified period.
