The Government of Goa on February 26, 2026, issued Paid Holiday on account of the Bye Election.

The Government has declared March 08, 2026 (Sunday) as a paid holiday for employees who are eligible to vote in the bye-elections for 14 vacant wards across various Village Panchayats in Goa, including areas in Pernem, Bicholim, Bardez, Salcete, Ponda, Quepem, and Canacona Talukas. The holiday is intended to enable voters to participate in the polling process.

The order applies to all establishments in the State, including businesses, trade units, industrial undertakings, government departments, and other organizations. It also covers daily wage and casual workers, ensuring that they receive paid leave on the polling day.

This measure has been introduced to facilitate voter participation and ensure that employees are not deprived of their wages while exercising their right to vote in the bye-elections.
