The Government of Himachal Pradesh on November 21, 2025, notified the Nagar Panchayat Chowari Outdoor Advertisement Bye-laws 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government of Himachal Pradesh notified the Nagar Panchayat Chowari Outdoor Advertisement Bye-Laws, 2025, to regulate outdoor advertisements and hoardings within the jurisdiction of Chowari under the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 1994.
•The bye-laws introduce rules requiring prior permission from the Nagar Panchayat for displaying advertisements, along with zoning restrictions, structural safety norms, and road-safety criteria.
•They prohibit advertisements in certain areas such as highways, environmentally sensitive locations, and places causing traffic hazards, and restrict objectionable or unlawful advertisement content.
•The regulations also prescribe procedures for permission, advertisement fees, penalties for violations, and removal of illegal hoardings, and come into force immediately after publication in the official gazette.
These Bye-laws shall come into force from March 05, 2026.
