Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Power (MoP) on March 05, 2026, notified the Energy Conservation (Energy Consumption Norms and Standards for Designated Consumers, Form, Time within which, and Manner of Preparation and Implementation of Scheme, Procedure for Issue of Energy Savings Certificate and Value of Per Metric Ton of Oil Equivalent of Energy Consumed) Amendment Rules, 2026 to amend the Energy Conservation (Energy Consumption Norms and Standards for Designated Consumers, Form, Time within which, and Manner of Preparation and Implementation of Scheme, Procedure for Issue of Energy Savings Certificate and Value of Per Metric Ton of Oil Equivalent of Energy Consumed) Rules 2012.

The following has been stated: -

•Under Rule 16, after sub-rule 2(C), the following sub-rule 2(D) shall be inserted, namely: - (2D) The value of per metric tonne of oil equivalent of energy consumed for the purpose of these rules shall be twenty-two thousand seven hundred and seventy-four rupees (22,774) for the year 2021-22 and for the succeeding target years shall be such amount as may be specified by the Central Government, by notification in the Official Gazette.

They shall come into force on March 06, 2026.
