Industry Specific ComplianceThe International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) on March 06, 2026, issued a Consultation Paper on  Draft IFSCA (Prohibition of Market Abuse in Securities Markets) Regulations, 2026.

The following has been stated: -

•International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has issued a consultation paper seeking public comments on the proposed IFSCA (Prohibition of Market Abuse in Securities Markets) Regulations, 2026.

•The proposed regulations aim to replace the applicability of existing SEBI regulations on insider trading and fraudulent/unfair trade practices within IFSCs.

•They are designed to ensure fair, transparent, and efficient securities markets by preventing market manipulation, insider trading, and other abusive practices.

•The framework is aligned with global best practices and IOSCO enforcement principles, emphasizing strong investigation, surveillance, and deterrence mechanisms.

•Listed entities, fiduciaries, and registered institutions in IFSCs will be required to implement internal controls and codes of conduct to prevent misuse of material non-public information.
