Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on February 26, 2026, notified regarding the mandatory Aadhaar Authentication for benefits under “Mukhya Mantri Kshay Rog Nivaran Yojana”.

The following has been stated:

• The scheme aims at providing support to TB and DR-TB patients and ASHA workers. The notification has been issued under Section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, to ensure targeted delivery of benefits and prevent duplication or misuse. Beneficiaries are required to provide their Aadhaar number for authentication while applying for the scheme.

• Persons who do not yet possess Aadhaar shall enrol for Aadhaar and can temporarily avail benefits by submitting the Aadhaar enrolment ID along with other valid identity documents such as voter ID, passport, ration card, or driving licence. 

• In cases where biometric authentication fails, alternative methods such as OTP-based authentication or offline Aadhaar verification (QR code/e-KYC) may be used. The concerned department is also required to facilitate Aadhaar enrolment, create awareness among beneficiaries, and ensure that no genuine beneficiary is denied benefits due to authentication failure, by following the exception handling mechanism under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) guidelines.
