The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), on March 10, 2026, issued a notification regarding Specifications of PoE and Non-PoE L2 and L3 Network Switches.
The following has been stated: -
•The ICT Division has revised the technical specifications for Layer-2 and Layer-3 network switches under the IT Hardware Procurement Policy for ESI locations.
•The updated Annexure-A provides detailed requirements for PoE and Non-PoE switches, including port capacity, performance, security features, networking protocols, and management functions.
•PoE switches are recommended only where future use of CCTV cameras or IP phones is expected, as they are more expensive than Non-PoE switches.
•All switches must meet minimum performance standards, certifications, and a 5-year onsite OEM warranty with vendor support in India.
