The Government of Himachal Pradesh, on March 06, 2026, notified the Municipal Council Bilaspur (Property Taxation) Bye-laws-2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The Municipal Council Bilaspur (Property Taxation) Bye-laws, 2025 regulate property tax assessment and collection within the Bilaspur municipality.
•The bye-laws introduce an assessment list system for all taxable land and buildings, including details of ratable value and liable taxpayers.
•Property tax is calculated using a unit area method based on factors such as location zone, structure type, age of building, occupancy, and usage.
•Annual tax bills will be issued for each property unit, with payment deadlines, rebate provisions, and penalties for late payment or non-compliance.
These Bye-laws shall come into force from March 06, 2026.
