The Ministry of Communications (MoC), on March 10, 2026, notified regarding the allocation of additional telecommunication identifiers in numbering series "1600' exclusively for service and transactional voice calls to M/s Tata Teleservices Limited for Karnataka LSA.
The following has been stated namely:-
• The competent authority has approved the **allocation of an additional Telemarketing Code to Tata Teleservices Limited for the Karnataka Licensed Service Area. The allotted code is 1600-322-XXX, where the value of “XXX” can range from 000 to 999, thereby providing up to 1000 telecommunication identifiers within the series for telemarketing purposes in the Karnataka LSA.
• While allocating the numbers, the licensee shall comply with the regulations issued by DoT and TRAI from time to time. It is also advised that numbering series to be used efficiently.
