The Cooperation, Marketing and Textiles Department, Govt. of Maharashtra on March 06, 2026, notified regarding the development of an AI chatbot for the Textile Department in the State.
The following has been stated:
• The State has decided to implement a 150-day action plan, based on the earlier Government Resolution dated June 02, 2025. In line with this initiative, the department decided to develop an AI chatbot to improve services and information access related to the textile sector. Three companies submitted proposals for this project, and after evaluating their quotations under the prevailing procurement policy, Ketonic India Pvt. Ltd. was selected as it offered the lowest quotation. Accordingly, the Government granted administrative approval to the proposal for developing the AI chatbot for the Textile Department.
• The resolution also specifies the financial arrangement for the project. An amount of ₹6.00 lakh will be utilized from the prize funds received by the department under the Rajiv Gandhi Administrative Dynamism (PRAGATI) Campaign and Competition 2024–25, announced through a Government Resolution dated March 26, 2025, for developing an online portal to distribute grants to textile institutions.
• This amount has already been credited to the department’s account and will be used for developing the AI chatbot. The remaining ₹3.80 lakh will be funded from the departmental budget under Demand No. V-2 (Major Head 2851 – Village and Small Industries) is related to administrative expenditure and implementation of the Maharashtra Textile Policy 2023–28.
• The resolution also states that the work order and service agreement with the selected company will be issued separately.
