The Department of Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Punjab on March 08, 2026, issued the Industrial and Business Development Policy, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The policy seeks to accelerate economic growth by encouraging the establishment of new industries and the expansion of existing units, while generating large-scale employment opportunities across sectors.
• The policy focuses on improving the ease of doing business through simplified regulatory processes, faster approvals, and better investor facilitation. It aims to strengthen industrial infrastructure, logistics, and connectivity, and promote innovation, technology adoption, and skill development to enhance industrial competitiveness within the state.
• Further, the policy proposes financial incentives, subsidies, and other support mechanisms for industries, with special emphasis on priority sectors such as manufacturing, MSMEs, startups, and emerging industries. It also encourages sustainable and environmentally responsible industrial development while positioning Punjab as a preferred destination for domestic and global investments.
