The Municipal Corporation Baddi, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on March 07, 2026, issued Draft Municipal Corporation, Baddi Advertisement Byelaws 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The bye-laws require that no advertisement, hoarding, or display device can be erected on any land, building, wall, or structure without prior written permission from the Municipal Commissioner, except for certain exempted categories such as limited self-advertisements within premises or government notices.
• The bye-laws further prescribe standards for advertisement design and placement to ensure road safety, stating that advertisements shall not imitate traffic signals, create glare, or distract drivers through flashing or moving displays. They also prohibit advertisements that promote nudity, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, violence, discrimination, or any content that violates public morality or existing laws.
• For advertisements on municipal land exceeding 50 square feet, allotment shall generally be made through a tender process, typically for three years. Applicants seeking permission for advertisements on private property must submit required documents, including the property owner’s consent, site plans, and structural safety certification.
• Advertisement fees are required to be paid in advance and are determined based on the size, category, and location of the advertisement. The bye-laws also provide for the establishment of an Advertisement Regulation Committee to assist in zoning, planning, and the implementation of advertisement policies. Non-compliance may lead to penalties, including fines and daily penalties for continuing violations, and the Municipal Commissioner has the authority to remove unauthorized advertisements.
• Objections or suggestions, if any, may be submitted in writing to the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Baddi, by April 6, 2026.
