Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) on March 05, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Applicability of Event based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM).

The following has been stated namely: - 

• An Event Based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM) is applied on select commodities based on price volatility.

• The margin is triggered when the High-Low price variation reaches certain thresholds calculated by the formula (High – Low) / Low × 100.

• Recently, due to price movement, E-ASM of 2.5% has been re-triggered for certain commodities.

• The 2.5% E-ASM will apply to all running and upcoming contracts of Coriander and Turmeric.

• This margin requirement will remain effective until March 27, 2026 to control excessive volatility in these commodities.
