The Government of Tamil Nadu on March 02, 2026, issued the amendment to the Tamil Nadu Private Schools (Regulation) Rules, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The following proviso has been inserted under sub-rule (5) under rule 8 namely: -
“Provided that the fee to be paid for every application for grant of certificate of recognition for more than three years shall be Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) for Nursery and Primary Schools and Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) for Middle, High and Higher Secondary Schools or as may be specified by the Government from time to time”
• Rule 8-A has been inserted namely: -
“Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, the Primary and Nursery Schools which were in existence on the date of publication of these rules in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and intend to upgrade shall apply for permission to upgrade in Form I-B and for grant of certificate of recognition in Form II-A subject to the fulfillment of requirements specified in Annexure-III”
