EHS ComplianceThe Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on March 09, 2026, issued an extension of the National Control Room for six months for effective implementation of the ban on identified single-use plastic items.

The following has been stated: -

• The Central Pollution Control Board has extended the National Control Room (NCR) to oversee the enforcement of the ban on identified single-use plastic items across India.

•The control room was initially set up for the December 2025–February 2026 enforcement campaign.

•It will now continue functioning from March 01, 2026, to August 31, 2026, to monitor compliance and coordinate actions by SPCBs and other authorities.

•The NCR will also provide guidance, support awareness activities, and submit weekly reports to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
