Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh, on September 25, 2025, notified the Municipal Corporation Palampur (Registration and Control of Pet Dogs) Bye-Laws, 2025.

The following has been stated: -

•The Municipal Corporation Palampur issued the Registration and Control of Pet Dogs Bye-Laws, 2025 under the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994.

•It makes registration of pet dogs above three months of age mandatory with a ₹500 one-time registration fee and ₹500 annual license renewal fee.

•A family can keep a maximum of two dogs, and owners must ensure vaccination, proper care, and prevent dogs from causing nuisance or defecating in public places.

•Guidelines and registration requirements are also prescribed for dog breeders and dog care centres, including specific registration and license fees.

•Penalties and dog impounding may be imposed for violations, and the rules come into force from the date of publication in the official Gazette.

They shall come into force from March 09, 2026.
