The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on March 11, 2026, notified the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Regulation of Controlled Substances) Amendment Order, 2026, further to amend the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Regulation of Controlled Substances) Order, 2013.
The following has been stated: -
•The Schedule has been amended to include 2-Bromo-4-Methylpropiophenone in multiple categories.
•It has been inserted as serial number 8 in Schedule-A and serial number 46 in both Schedule-B and Schedule-C.
•This update formally adds the chemical to the regulatory lists under the respective schedules.
It shall come into force on March 11, 2026.
