The Directorate of Higher Education, Goa, on March 12, 2026, issued the Manohar Parrikar Goa Scholars Scheme, 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The Directorate of Higher Education, Goa, notified the Manohar Parrikar Goa Scholars Scheme 2025 to encourage Goan students to pursue Postgraduate and PhD studies in reputed institutions in India and abroad.
•Applicants must be 35 years or below, residents of Goa (generally 15 years), and have at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree with strong academic performance.
•40 scholars annually (up to 50 in special cases) will be selected through screening and interview based on academic record, extracurricular achievements, institution reputation, and interview performance.
•Selected candidates will receive ₹6 lakh for studies in India or ₹15 lakh for studies abroad, disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer.
•Applications are submitted online to the Directorate, and the scheme is funded through the Higher Education Promotion Fund (HEPF) managed by the department.
