The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on March 07, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Social Media Advisory to Maritime Stakeholders and Seafarer Community.
The following has been stated namely: -
• All maritime stakeholders, RPSL companies, shipping companies, unions and individuals are advised to exercise restraint and responsibility while sharing information related to maritime incidents or security developments in the Gulf Region and Strait of Hormuz.
• Further, refrain from forwarding or publishing unverified information and ensure that only authenticated updates from official sources and competent authorities are disseminated.
